The other day my friend Jessica called and instead of my iPhone playing the intro to Poison by Bel Biv Devoe, it just rang as if a total stranger was calling me. Fail. For the third time since I’ve had my iPhone, the ringtones have been wiped out. That is, the ringtones I have assigned to individual contacts have all been reset. I’m not sure why this happened. I didn’t do anything weird with the phone. And, to make things worse, it seems like ringtones for contacts aren’t backed up by iTunes. So I’ve got to restore them manually for each contact. Only to have them get wiped out again for some mysterious reason in about six months.

Anyone know what’s going on with this?
